Crimson Desert’s first major paid DLC, Charting the Unknown, officially launches on October 29, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. New Story Content

After completing the main story, players can access three new character-specific storylines through the Journal menu. Each protagonist will embark on an independent journey, meet both new and familiar allies, and face entirely new threats.

Additionally, completing the main quest Howling Hill unlocks an extra storyline centered on the ocean. Players who have completed the main story can also take on a new combat challenge called Garden of Trials. In this challenge, players must face a series of powerful bosses encountered throughout their adventures. Those who emerge victorious will receive special rewards, making it an ideal challenge for players seeking intense combat encounters.

Ocean Exploration and Shipbuilding

The DLC opens up the vast Pywel Ocean as a major new area for exploration. Players can unlock the shipbuilding feature, gather materials to construct and customize their own vessels, and then set sail to explore islands in the eastern and southern seas.

On these islands, players can defeat enemy forces, establish outposts, and work alongside their Greymane companions to manage their newly established bases. By building trust with certain characters, players can develop romantic relationships that may eventually lead to marriage. Close companions can also visit the Greymane Camp, allowing players to spend quality time with them and making camp life more engaging.

After completing the construction of the Howling Hill Camp and fulfilling the relevant request in the Greymane faction quest Land of the Morning Light, players can access the upgraded housing system.

The new system allows players to design their homes from scratch, including the layout of walls, windows, and other structural elements. Furthermore, after liberating certain castles, players can claim them as their own and decorate their interiors.

In addition, players can rent facilities throughout Pywel, assign companions and equipment, choose which goods to sell, and determine how each business operates. Increasing a facility’s reputation will unlock corresponding rewards and generate profits.
